Eligibility And Schedule
Eligibility
Players in the Harvey Penick Invitational will be competitive golfers with tournament accomplishments on the national, regional and state level. The Mid-Amateur field will be open to men who have attained the age of 25 by the start of the tournament, who have a USGA Handicap Index of 2.4 or lower. The Senior Amateur field will be open to men who have attained the age of 55 by the start of the tournament, and who have a USGA Handicap Index of 3.4 or lower. The entry deadline is August 31, 2010.
The Tournament Committee has final authority for entry acceptance and placement within the tournament field. Players who wish to submit a request for invitation should do so before the deadline for entry. Please click here to submit a request for invitation.
Format and Schedule
The Harvey Penick Invitational is a 54-hole medal play tournament with no cut. All rounds will begin on the first hole, with tee times starting at 8:00 A.M. Ties for the individual championship are settled at the conclusion of play by sudden-death playoff. The tournament schedule is as follows:
Thursday, October 7
Practice Round
Friday, October 8
First Round, all players starting off #1 tee
Breakfast and lunch provided to players
Dinner and drinks at Austin Country Club, 7:00 P.M.
Saturday, October 9
Second Round, all players starting off #1 tee
Breakfast and lunch provided to players
Sunday, October 10
Final Round, all players starting off #1 tee
Breakfast and lunch provided to players
Awards Presentation following play
Entry Fee
The $300 entry fee includes a practice round and three tournament rounds, carts, range balls, dinner and drinks on Friday night, and breakfast and lunch for all tournament rounds.
Rules and Conditions
Play will be governed by the United States Golf Association (USGA) Rules of Golf. Detailed tournament conditions and registration requirements will be provided by mail prior to the start of the tournament. In the best interest of the competition, unbecoming conduct or behavior will not be tolerated. Golf shoes with soft spikes are required. Entrants will be expected to follow the pace of play policy for the tournament.
The tournament has adopted the USGA Local Rule permitting the use of distance measuring devices during a stipulated competitive round.
